Another evening sitting in front of the tv playing with DJ. Watching 21 on tv. Wondering what tomorrow is gonna bring. Sometimes i look at it and wonder to myself if this is the dream that I have always wanted or is it a nightmare in some cases. Don't get me wrong I got a great job and i am sure lots of people want to do it. But there just comes a point in time when you wonder if you have had enough of it. And wonder if you have enough balls to jump to the next step or risk it all and see what the world will throw at you.

Dusting off the cobwebs of this blog while sitting on my balcony realising that life sometimes throws you curve balls and how things you never thought possible or never realised could be the best things to ever happen to someone.

Well the last few months I have been taken on a journey that i never dreamt i could possibly have imagined. I used to be a person that never really took life by the balls. But this time around life decided to take me on a journey. For the good or bad of it i do't know yet but for now i am along for the ride no matter where it takes me. Tonight tho, i decided to take a back seat and look around. (Wow Pietro is vivid)

When i sat back to see the view the song "Let it be" kept ringing in my head. Specificaly the line "There will be an answer". Am a little bit emotional after that thought. Because i know that there is no answers to immediate or urgent questions in life. But ultimately the answer will come. Whether you like it or not.

Somedays i wish there was more in life and somedays i am content with exactly with what i have today. But we all know that life is not that easy. LIke there is so much i want in life and yet no more i want in life. I am speaking riddles i know. Tells you the frame of mind i am in right now doesn't it.

Well maybe someday i will explain. For now i will keep it as my own thoughts.

I've been looking at my older posts and of course as usual I apologise for not updating this site as often as i should. But I have hardly had any inspiration to write. Recently there has been inspiration but no real time. Or rather no words to describe whether logical or rational enough. Ahhh Pietro speaks in riddles. My first post of 2009

Yeah yeah so I'm 12 days late. Does it matter. Honestly, i haven't had much of inspiration to write since there is nothing much to write about and as the title way at the top states, I hardly right emo drama kind of stuff.

But I'll write something anyway with no idea where it's gonna lead. So bare with me. So far 2009 is looking good. Well compared to the crap that was called 2008. I've just bought a condo which is a great feeling! So if anyone knows where i can get good prices on furniture, renovations, electronics.. would appreciate the heads up. Can't wait to furnish it and call it home. Still 3 months left to go. Damn this whole legal thing to get a house sure is a slow process.

Work wise, it's looking good. I don't feel the strains i used to last year. But then again it's a new year and i just got off a 2 week break and i might just be freshened up. For those dear listeners that emailed me and asked me how can I go on leave for so long? Well dudes, it happens. Waking up at 5 a everyday and acting cheery sometimes burns you out fast.

Been dating a bit, and must admit i have met some extremely amazing women. Intelligence and personality rate really high with them. Of course not to mention that they are very pretty. The problem is i am still scared of being hurt. Women bare with me for awhile. But i think it's pretty hard to find a matured, loyal, considerate girl in KL. Women these days are turning as wild and inconsistant as men. It's scary. I mean i know a girl who has 3 boyfriends. I mean.. WOW! How do you juggle? You know how women always say they have no faith in men? Well i'm getting to the point where I think there might not be any more good women left in town. And i know everyones gonna say I am looking at all the wrong places or meeting all the wrong girls. Well then someone point me in the right direction! But thankfully I am not making this a priority in life right now. Just wanna get the house thing done and the money thing all done and then let God decide where and when a woman shall come into my life.

I think i gotta start writing like this more. What do you think?

So i have been back in the dating game for a while and I must admit i have met some amazing women. But i don't understand this whole playing hard to get deal. Or acting aloof. Why is that a woman can be so accomodating one dinner and so distant and cold the next. And then blame it back on you.

Not just a matter of personal experience but also just general talks with guys. And even some girls.

So some advice for women. If you like a guy, please la don't play so hard to get. Or maybe they are just not into you. Though I am sure this post is going to get some reactions eh.

Weird place in my head

Am sure you have been here before. In fact i think you we all been here alot. Where you question life and wonder what your purpose in life. Where through the course in your life, did you reach a fork in the road where you might have taken a wrong turn. Probably because age is catching up on you (hint hint my birthday is this Saturday).

Just a room of gloom over yesterday was a bit worrying for me. Though I feel i am doing well in life, i think there is so much more i can do.

Been pretty mooody these last few days and can't put my finger on it. I think i need another break. So am looking forward to the whole christmas break. 8 days in Penang sounds great right about now and it can't come soon enough.

Even while i write this i can't seem to focus on how to write this out.

So even while i contemplate life i am sure millions of people around me are doing the same but we all have this tough or cheery exterior that people don't know whats going on with your life.

I usually don't like to rant and leave out personal life experiences from this blog and am usually quite riddle-y here. But i guess I do it to put my own thoughts on screen so that I can look back at it and understand.

Ok obviously i am not making any more sense. So i will stop now but hopefully happier entries to come.

By the way, reminder that every saturday I will be deejaying in Velvet. So come party with me ok.

The problem with Malaysian football fans

Now before you bite my head of thinking that I am making fun of all football fans, you are wrong. I am just amused with a large portion of wannabe football fans.

The term “lalang” always comes to mind when talking about football fans in Malaysia. Here’s an example, if you have been following football fans like I do in Malaysia, here is a simple thing I have realized. 5 years ago, how many people did you see wearing a Chelsea jersey out? Probably close to none. But they win the premiership and guess what? A sea of blue jerseys at your favorite mamak come game night. Most of which were purchased at your local pasar malam.

2 years ago while watching the world cup, I was watching the game between France and Brazil. The final score was 1 – 0 to France. Being a France fan I was overjoyed that the win put them through the finals and also beating one of the best teams in the world. The joy was shared with my friend Alex, who was standing on top of the table screaming profanities at the other team fans and yelling out words which I can only believe was his attempt to scream french words. I also think I saw a tear in his eye. He was hugging me and telling me that he has been waiting for this day for years, ever since the victory in ’88.

A week later at the final between France and Italy, I decided to watch it at your local pub to feel the enjoyment of it all. With my France scarf, I watched as my beloved france score the first goal, but was equalized soon after.

It was down to penalty kicks and when David Trezeguet stepped up I felt a churning in my stomach. He missed and the game was over. Already down and very upset, I felt a jab on my right arm and a voice going “Hahahahah Viva la Italia!!”. It’s Alex laughing his brains out, and jeering me. Screaming profanities at France and professing his years of love for Italy. First of all my dear friend Alex, the phrase “Viva La” is reserved for France, and even I know the cheer for Italy would have been “Forza Italia”.

From that day onwards I decided to play attention to new football fans, and to see what sort of weird things they would do to prove that they love their team.

Being a radio dj, I sometimes get calls from listeners that call to put down my team. This is all fine by me because part of the love of the game is the banter that goes on between fans. Then came that fateful day when Manchester United took away the 50th unbeaten run from my beloved Arsenal. All the calls I got the next time I was on air was tremendous. It got to a point where I could not take it anymore. This one guy who has called me at least 6 times was being relentless. So I asked him how long he has been supporting MU. He replied with “I love MU, they are the best team in the world, there is no other team that I love more” Which I continued with “So if you love your team so much, what is the name of their 2nd string goalkeeper?”. The reply was “Barthez”. And he hung up. Fabian Barthez had left the team 2 years before. And this sort of made me feel better.

It seems like there are these groups of people who decide on a weekly basis which team to support. They probably have fake jerseys of the top 4 teams which they carry along with them and decide which one to put on during half time.

I think that in Malaysia, we are still young and therefore finding out mentality even to the point we are still finding our football teams. But our problem is that we support a team that we can use to put someone else down. It’s probably peer pressure or just the joy of knowing that you can spend a good Saturday night jumping for joy with the rest of the city, even though you don’t know the names of your entire first string line-up

It’s these people that tick the real football fans off. Which I know in Malaysia are a plenty. And to these people I take my hat off to you. No matter win or lose, you still support and love your team.

Football is a passion and I wish all the football fans, good luck with your premiership season and “Viva La Arsenal!”

This saying means that you don't see things that are obviously right in front of you. Now some of you might think that this is a true statement. That sometimes its the things in front of you that will make the most impact in your life. Not so true after long evenings of thinking about stuff. It's not really looking at the forest but whats in it.

Basically trying not to sound to riddle bound, I am exploring new things in life. And i discovered that as a human being, life changes constantly and so does events. So what looks good know might not be the thing for you in a year.

Aiyah basicaly i am being fickled.

But here's the good news. LAst night I had to DJ in Velvet for their Mambo night for a little while. It was basically a short audition for me to be resident DJ in Zouks new club called Phuture. It will be open sometime in mid october. I will be there every friday and will be spinning a lot of Ol'Skool Hip Hop & R&B. And were talking really funky stuff ok. Not so much the "Yo Yo Wassup" stuff you hear now. So keep reading and I will update you when the time comes.

So you might not know this but for the last 6 weeks or so I've been practicing with Hannah Tan for a nationwide pole dancing competition. No we didn't take part but we were the celebs supposed to perform for the finals. I must tell you it was real nerve wrecking but in the end we had fun doing it. Props to our trainers from Viva Vertical for putting up with us. Anyway here are the final results from our performance. Video is not great quality but I will see if i can get a better one later on.

My father was paralyzed and later died from the result of a stroke. I wish I knew about this first aid before.

When stroke strikes, the capillaries in the brain will gradually burst."(Irene Liu)

When a stroke occurs, stay calm. No matter where the victim is, do not move him/her. Because, if moved, the capillaries will burst. Help the victim to sit up where he is to prevent him from falling over again, and then the bloodletting can begin. If you have in your home an injection syringe that would be the best, otherwise, a sewing needle or a straight pin will do.

1. Place the needle/pin over fire to sterilize it, and then use it to prick the tip of all 10 fingers.

2. There are no specific acupuncture points, just prick about a mm from the fingernail.

3. Prick till blood comes out.

4. If blood does not start to drip, then squeeze with your fingers.

5. When all 10 digits is bleeding, wait a few minutes then the victim will regain consciousness.

6. If the victim's mouth is crooked, then pull on his ears until they are red.

7. Then prick each ear lobe twice until two drops of blood comes from each ear lobe. After a few
minutes the victim should regain consciousness.

Wait till the victim regain his normal state without any abnormal symptoms then take him to the hospital, otherwise, if he was taken in the ambulance in a hurry to the hospital, the bumpy trip will cause all the capillaries in his brain to burst. If he could save his life, barely managing to walk, then it is by the grace of his ancestors.

" I learned about letting blood to save life from Chinese traditional doctor Ha Bu-Ting who lives in Sun-Juke. Furthermore, I had practical experience with it. Therefore I can say this method is 100% effective.In 1979, I was teaching in Fung-Gaap College in Tai-Chung. One afternoon I was teaching class when another teacher came running to my class room and said in panting, "Ms. Liu, come quick, our supervisor has had a stroke!"

I immediately went to the 3rd floor. When I saw our supervisor, Mr.Chen Fu-Tien, his color was off, his speech was slurred, his mouth was crooked-all the symptoms of a stroke.
I immediately asked one of the practicum students to go to the pharmacy outside the school to buy a syringe, which I used to prick Mr. Chen's 10 fingers tips. When all 10 fingers were bleeding (each with a pea-sized drop of blood), after a few minutes, Mr. Chen's face regained its color and his eyes' spirit returned, too. But his mouth was still crooked. So I pulled on his ears to fill them with blood. When his ears became red, I pricked his right earlobe twice to let out 2 drops of blood. When both earlobes had two drops of blood each, a miracle happened. Within 3-5 minutes the shape of his mouth returned to normal and his speech became clear. We let him rest for a while and have a cup of hot tea, then we helped him go down the stairs, drove him to Wei-Wah Hospital . He rested one night and was released the next day to return to school to teach.
Everything worked normally. There were no ill after-effects. On the otherhand, the usual stroke victim usually suffers irreparable bursting of the brain capillaries on the way to the hospital. As a result, these victims never recover.- " (Irene Liu)

Therefore stroke is the second cause of death. The lucky ones will stay alive but can remain paralyzed for life.

It is such a horrible thing to happen in one's life.

If we can all remember this bloodletting method and start the life-saving process immediately, in a short time, the victim will be revived and regain 100% normality.

I would like to express grave concern over the aforemntioned competition that is highlighted at the council's website:

I am shocked and appalled that such an event has been organized by people who have authority! - people whom we, by default, have put our trust in at making sound, logical decisions for the community. than The dog problem is due to the Council's own irresponsibility and couldn't-care-less attitude to begin with, and for them to turn the situation into a game is, in my honest opinion, downright ridiculous. Without any rules protecting the welfare of dogs and participants, the competition is only going to encourage: - cruelty to animals- the risk of injury to participants- pet theftAnd what the Council is going to do with the all the live dogs once the competition is over, I feel that we as Malaysian citizens have the right to know and scrutinize if need be. There are so many more better and more civilised methods of handling the situation. For example, why don't they use the intended prize money for more constructive purposes, like funding for the development of more animal homes, or supporting current shelters like the Furry Friends Farm ( remembersheena.blogspot.com), SPCA or PAWS?

I strongly urge Mix FM to highlight this concern, as I know many others who are already infuriated just by finding out about this via the internet, and want to put an end to the competition before the animal abuse and pet theft rate in Selayang go sky high.

Fox and Pepsi got together and constructed a real life Simpsons house, then gave it away to the lucky winner of some contest. Sure it happened nearly ten years ago, but I had never seen it. The house is located in Nevada, and reminds me of my dreams when I've eaten fish right before bed. Only this missing is a roommate who drinks all day and doesn't clean up after himself.

American Gladiator Returns!

NBC has decided to resurrect American Gladiators. The new version will focus on the reality aspect of the show, such as the back stories of contestants as well as following their training, etc. The show will feature eight gladiators (four men and four women) though there's no word if any of the originals like Nitro or Turbo will return. Although I'm kind of hoping they just bring in wild gorillas, dress them up in spandex, and let them beat the contestants to death.

So Joanne's got married. By the way congrats Albertus and Adeline. So i was in Alor Star a few weeks ago. This ia what I got to say about the place. Nice, quiet, clean air and no jams!

So after the wedding dinner we adjourned to the wedding couples room for the after party where Pietro found something that amused him. If you don't know..... small and weird things make me happy.

It's called the "un-bra". It's a very soft rubbery, gelatin like substance. Kinda squishy and feels real weird. But here is how it works. You apply some water on the inner side of the cup and attach it to your breasts...(did i say attach?) And with the water it kinda sucks up your breasts and sticks. (Remember those toys as a kid where you throw it on the wall and slowly slides down?) So this contraption amazed the hell out of me!
So here i am examining the product wondering how someone came up with this!

Then i thought. Hey i could have fun with this thing! It's a bugs life man!

Long awaited post on sadness

2 weeks ago i was living in dread when the sports headlines read "Henry to Barca?" And i thought to myself. Yeah of course clubs will be going for the great Thierry Henry. And it happens every year that there are offers for him to leave Arsenal. But as usual i would brush it off. But as the days went, the man that made me fall in love with the game and support the team I love is leaving for another club.

What a day it was. And of course you will get all the sms's going.. "So how?", "Arsenal is going down!" Even the occasional .. "Would you like to support my team?" Yes it's true the man is a great player and will be missed. And definetely the team will feel the pinch of missing one of the best strikers in the world. But we all know this. The team is not made of one man.

So with the new season coming upon us, I will be looking forward to seeing my favorite team move forward and prove their worth.

The only consolation I have is that Henry leaves to my favorite Spanish team, although I never am able to catch them playing, instead of to another English team.

So Thierry, thanks for the memories man. You will be missed.

Transformers Review

Ok so I was one of the lucky people to watch the premiere of Transformers. I just got to say that Michael Bay and Spielberg teaming up was amazing. The CGI was great. They really made the Transformers come to life. But i must admit i did not enjoy watching it that night cos i was real tired. And it was 2 and half hours long. But all in all you got to check it out. As i plan to do so on another day when i get enough rest.

But here's the best part. Not only was it awesome to hear Optimus Primes voice again and see him transform, you get an extra eye candy with Megan Fox

Girl Power Camp

I had to host a Seventeen Magazine event called "Girls Power Camp". Basically it was about 250 teenage girls across the country who were handpicked to come to this camp and on one of the nights they had a talent show and a small tea dance kind of party which was dj'ed by me.

But when i walked into the hall, i was real surprised that the organisers were not kidding when they said the girls were living in the hall that the party was going to be.

These are all their clothes and towels that were on the other end of the hall. Other than the sound dudes i was the only guy in that hall of girls. Ordinarily you would be thrilled but i was more surprised than anything else.

This is real sad. Some chinese students were having some sort of recruitment thing in their school canteen and then there was havoc. This happened in UPM. Take a look and make your own judgement. To me it's just sad and shows where this country is going.

In case you did not know. My morning show on Mix has a segment called "Who wears the pants" where a guy and a girl compete by answering questions about the opposite gender. The winner gets 1 point for the gender. At the end of an allocated time the losing gender has to perform a stunt. Now the guys lost which meant I had to wax my chest on live radio. Not only did we put it on radio but we video taped it as well.

So to all the men who contributed in my pain. Thank you. Word of advice. Don't wax your chest. Cos it does hurt. Take a look at the videos and amuse yourselves.

Lots of people might not know this about me but I used to be a club DJ and I still mess around a little bit on it. In fact i do a non stop show every now and then on MixFM every weekends called the "Retro Mix".

But it's time to get out and do it again in clubs. I already have a few gigs lined up and will keep everyone posted on it. But if you know of any clubs or events that need a dj then let me know. Of course i only do it part time. I still would like to have a day job.

WHat to do for the next few months? With the EPL season over there is not much to do but check out the transfer window. If you don't know what I am talking about, it's about football. So if you don't want to know i suggest you close this window now.

Arsenal had a dissapointing season this time round. Even their Coach Arsene Wenger said so. I must admit i agree. Sad. But thats the beauty of football. At the end of the season you start fresh again. With all the optimism in the world to watch your team go into battle.

And next year there is EURO!

But here is my prediction. Like every other season. No matter who wins the season... there will be new fans. Mark my words. In a few months everyone will be wearing an MU jersey. Watch! It's weird I have never seen so many Chelsea jerseys till about a year ago after they won the premiership. Sad. But hey to the true fans of each club.. I salute you. Good luck next season!
