In happier times

*WARNING!* emo post ahead

From left to right: Simon Choo, Pietro (with hair!), Ahmad Izham Omar, Lam Swee Kim, Jacynta Au-Yong and Leilaton Layali

If you didn't know this about me before, I used to work in a recording label called Positive Tone. This was a few years back. I was an A&R guy. If you don't know what it is. Just lookup Simon Cowells job description and it might be that.

I used to work with the most brilliant minds in Malaysian music. Ahmad Izham Omar and Paul Moss. These 2 were my Gurus and till today, 2 men i have great respect for.

Obviously the years have gone by and we have drifted apart seeing all of us are working in different fields now. But at the time we always had one word that sprung to mind. "Family".

I really don't know why i started writing this post and where it's going to lead. But i do know i miss those days. I miss the "family".

Working in a bigger corporation now, you kind of lose that sense of family and belonging. You are just another rat in the rat race.

Those days were all about passion, fun, screwing up together, ideas, struggle and a lot of love. It is kind of painful to know that when i meet some of these old friends, how much we have drifted apart.

I guess finding the picture which was probably taken a good 7 years ago brought back some very happy memories.

These were definetely happier days. And now it's all about money and paying bills. I used to live out of my car back in the day and I loved it so much.

Like i said i have no idea how this post was gonna start or how its gonna end. So i'll just say "thanks for the memories"

OMG even though I'm not in that kind of situation yet -which ironically I'd want to, I mean who wouldn't want to be working in a big corporation?- I so know how you feel!!!
